There is no account to create here and no form asking you for your story. What the site does run is Google Analytics and one click event, and this page says what each of them records.
What this site receives
Every page loads Google Analytics under the measurement id G-9SNE79WL5F. Analytics records the ordinary things: which pages were opened and in what order, the site or search that sent you, your approximate location, and the sort of device and browser you are on. The site itself keeps no list of readers, because there is nothing here to sign up for.
One event on top of that is ours. The buttons on this site are marked in the HTML with data-cta, and clicking one sends an event called outbound_click with three fields: the label on the button, the path of the page you clicked it from, and the host it points at, which is seniormatch.com for a registration button. It does not send the full destination address, referral code and all, and it adds nothing about you beyond what Analytics already collects.
QA and local development
Two situations switch all of that off, and both of them live in the site's layout. If the address carries a qa parameter, as in ?qa=1, the Analytics script is never loaded and the click event never fires. The same applies when the hostname is localhost or 127.0.0.1, which is where the site runs while it is being written and checked. Our own passes over a page therefore stay out of the numbers.
What happens once you leave for seniormatch.com
Registering happens on seniormatch.com, not here, and from the moment you land there their privacy policy governs what is collected and what is done with it. The referral code in the link tells them the visit came from this site. It does not tell them anything about you, and it carries nothing across from the pages you read here.
The same goes for every other link we send you out on, including the Social Security Administration, the National Institute on Aging, AARP, the FTC, the FBI and the support organizations we point you to. Each one runs its own policy. Read it before you hand over a card number or an email address.
